Clipped
Protecting the lives of all unowned cats.
October - December 2023 08 Weeks
Project Summary
Create a promotional campaign to bring awareness to the cause.
Project Objective
Create empathy from the users to help the cause.
Inform the users about what the cause is about and what actions can be taken.
The Challenge
Not many people are aware of unowned cats and their situation. People are also not sure what to do when interacting with a stray or feral cat.
Target Audience
People who care about unowned cats in the Bay Area.
Research
Some research includes market and primary research. There were also surveys done before and after the campaign to get people’s opinions and knowledge about the topic.
Findings
The market for promotional campaigns about unowned cats is very small.
People are unaware of the resources around them regarding cats.
Not many people know about TNR (Trap Neuter Release) and its benefits.
Process
The beginning of the promotional campaign included creating the problem and purpose statement and learning about what people know of unowned cats.
PROBLEM STATEMENT-
Stray and feral cats that freely roam without being neutered or spayed increase the number of health complications in cats and the number of feral cats, and overall strain the relationship between cats and humans.
PURPOSE STATEMENT -
TNR or trap-neuter-release is beneficial to cats to help slow the spread of diseases and the overgrowth in the population. After being neutered or spayed, cats also become less aggressive towards humans and fellow cats. This is because cats will have less testosterone, which makes them less aggravated and territorial. This will make it easier for humans to live alongside cats without complications.
To help with the promotional campaign, personas were made.
The process of creating the design of the promotional campaign consisted of creating the branding solution, finding the design methodology, and making the design plan.
Design plan:
SOLUTION FEATURES -
Direct information to organizations that deal with cats.
How to interact with the cat in the area, and what to do.
DESIGN CRITERIA -
The design should be easy to read and view from afar.
The design needs to be concise.
The design needs to have info that can be easily digested.
Design should provide a sense of security and empathy to the viewer.
After figuring out the design plan, sketches, storyboards, mock-ups, and iterations were done for the final design development.
